Spotlight 2013…

Our board members meet tomorrow to decide the fate of the next set of recipients,  mega planning session (with tacos!) It’s a long day full of reports and paperwork to make sure the treasure is being divided equally, with plans to plunder for more, so stay tuned for more info on fundraisers, etc.   As for  our new recipients, so far you have been  introduced to Marlene Krpata, Pam Fountaine and Michael Malarsie (a stow away from 2012, but we’ll keep him).  I’ll introduce you to the rest of the motley 2013 crew in blogs to come.

In the meantime…

Our treasurer Michael Nasr takes the spotlight, featured in the latest edition of the 380 Guide, a publication reaching more than 90,000 readers along the 380 corridor.  While being interviewed Michael included our 2012 group picture, and a picture of him and Jamie McWilliams yuckin’ it up at the Thirsty Turtle. (Cute!) It was a great feature on Michael, giving his time and talent and lots his free time as a board member and adaptive dive buddy.   Thanks to Michael and all the board members for all that you do!

We’ve crossed the pond…

Www really does stand for world wide web, Otto Lermo, who has C.P., found us online and contacted us about diving around Malta.  Buchaneer Barb referred him to an SSI store in the area, Octopus Garden.  That was in April, and he just sent us a quick update that the people were wonderful and he is now a certified OW diver.  He says he walks with two canes but is a fish in the water, he must be!
